The world conference A world worth living in will take place at Stadionmässan Conference Centre, which is located in the middle of the area of sports, on Stadiongatan 25, in the southern part of Malmö, Sweden. For more information, see Stadionmässan

Some of the seminars will be held at Ibis Hotel, very close to Stadionmässan.

Stadionmässan is available for disabled and the Congress Hall has hearing loops.

Registration

The on-line registration will open in 21 February 2011. Last date for registration is 15 April 2011. When you make your registration you can also select which seminars or study visits you want to participate in.

The registration desk at Stadionmässan opens Tuesday 14 June at 10.00 and will then be open daily from 08.00.

Registration fees

The registration fee is 2 200 SEK and includes access to all conference sessions, seminars, workshops and study visits, exhibition hall, conference materials, coffee breaks, lunches and

* the Grundtvig Award Ceremony and the Welcome buffet and the ICAE reception 14 June at 18.30 – 22.00

* the Swedish Folkbildning Banquet with cultural events in Folkets Park 15 June at 19.00.

The registration fee for ICAE members from Latinamerica, Africa and Asia and for EAEA members outside of EES is free of charge, 0 SEK.

Programme and Conference Material

You will receive the Final Programme, a Participant List and other relevant materials at the Registration desk at Stadionmässan. Each participant will receive a name badge upon registration. All participants are requested to wear their badge during all the Conference activities and social events.

Exhibitions

There will be different exhibitions in the exhibition hall, which is quite close to the Congress Hall and the coffee and lunch service. In the exhibition hall there will also be miniseminars and places for different open-space meetings.  The exhibition area will be open between 08.00 – 18.00 on 15 and 16 June 2011.

Language and Simultaneous Interpretation

The official language of this website and at the conference is English. In the plenary sessions simultaneous interpretation services will be available in four languages: English, French, Spanish and Swedish. The service will also be available for some of the seminars.

Passport & Visa

A valid passport entitles EU and North American citizens to a three-month stay in Sweden. Citizens of other countries should check with a Swedish embassy or consulate in their home country.

Travelling to Malmö

Malmö can conveniently be reached from the major international airport Copenhagen Airport/Kastrup in Denmark or the (mostly domestic) Malmö Airport.

Accommodation

Banks and Post Offices

Banks are open between 10.00 and 16.00 weekdays.
Some banks in central Malmö are open 09.00-17.00, some also on Saturday
Cash machines are often located at main streets and next to a bank.
Credit cards are accepted everywhere also in the taxis.
Some supermarkets in Malmö are post office agents. Opening hours are often 09.00-22.00 weekdays.

Currency

The official currency in Sweden is Swedish Krona (SEK). Currency rate on www.oanda.com

Electricity

The electrical current in Sweden is 220V/50 Hz. Round; European style two-pin plugs are used. Appliances designed to operate in 110/120 V need a voltage converter and a plug adapter.

Shopping

On weekdays, shops usually are open between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm, on Saturdays between 10.00 am and 17.00 pm, on Sundays between 12.00 am and 16.00 pm.

Some department stores stay open until 8.00 pm daily.

Time zone

The time zone in Malmö is GMT + 1 hour. Daylight Saving Time is used during the summer (end of March – end of October).

VAT (Value added tax)

The Swedish VAT is 25% and is added to all goods and services and is included in the retail prices.
