How to support participants

It is crucial that voices will be heard from the adult education community in all parts of the world in the ICAE World Assembly. We therefore strongly urge organisations, institutions and donors in the global north to financially support participants from the global south. The ICAE Secretariat in Montevideo is coordinating these efforts and you can support the participation of adult educators from the south by transferring your contribution to their bank account.

The average cost per person for transport, accommodation and food will be about 3000$. Follow the example of these contributors:

The Swedish Association for Adult Education (SAEA) is financing 4 participants

The Swedish national organization for folk high schools (RIO) is financing 2 participants

The Swedish national organization for folk high schools run by local governments is financing 2 participants.

The 17 folk high schools in the region of Skåne (Malmö) are financing 4 participants.

The Swedish unions, LO and TCO, are supporting the registration fees for 30 participants.

dvv international is financing 14 people

The Norwegian Association for Adult Education is financing 3 participants

The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is financing 5 participants

Action Aid is financing 1 participant

UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning is financing 6 participants

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation is financing 4 participants and an important contribution for interpretation

The Danish Adult Education Association (DAEA) has decided to donate 50,000 DKK (some 9,715 USD) to support participants from the South.

All of them have recognized the importance of the right to adult learning and education by supporting the World Assembly. Any contribution is important and welcomed. With the solidarity of all of us, we will enable the participation of a higher number of people.
